The Smiley Sharks print rides along to every nap; the TOG rating does the actual work.

Smiling sharks and little fish — the friendly version of the shark phase.

This is the year-round weight, the one you'll use about nine months of the year in a 69–75°F nursery. It's the everyday workhorse of the line — warm enough for a typical night, light enough that the baby never wakes up overheated.

Material. A TENCEL™ Lyocell shell over a light layer of DuPont™ Sorona insulation, a plant-based fill that holds warmth without bulk.

The print. Cream-ivory ground (navy binding) with watercolor smiling sharks — great white, whale, hammerhead, and tiger — in white, gray, and blue tones, with small fish and blue stars.

Construction. Sleeveless on purpose, so your baby sheds heat instead of trapping it. A two-way zipper runs the length of the bag, so a midnight diaper change takes seconds and wakes nobody. The neck and arm openings are bound in soft fabric, not scratchy serged edges, and cut snug — the part that matters most for safe sleep.

Why TENCEL™ for a year-round bag. A 1.0 TOG is worn most nights and washed twice a week, so the fiber has to keep its hand. TENCEL™ Lyocell stays smooth and breathable through heavy laundering and carries heat off the skin instead of trapping it.

Adjacent TOGs in the same print. Room running warm? The 0.5 TOG Muslin Sleep Bag in Smiley Sharks covers 75–81°F summer nurseries. Cold nursery in winter? The 2.5 TOG TENCEL™ Sleep Bagpicks up at 61–68°F.

Sizing. 0–6M (8–18 lb), 6–18M (18–28 lb), 18–36M (28–38 lb). Size to current weight. The 0–6M usually carries a baby through to the 4-month sleep regression; the 6–18M is usually the size your baby wears the longest.

Care. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Don't bleach, and don't iron the printed areas. TENCEL™ keeps its smooth face through the twice-or-thrice-weekly wash a baby's wardrobe demands.

Safety & certification. AAP safe-sleep compliant and tested to CPSC, CPSIA, and ASTM standards. The material is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and Loulou Lollipop is a Certified B Corporation.

Common questions

Why TENCEL™ for this sleep bag instead of muslin?

TENCEL™ Lyocell is a wood-pulp fiber spun in a closed-loop process. It pulls moisture off the skin quickly and stays soft and keeps its look through repeated washing, so we use it in our year-round 1.0 and 2.5 TOG sleep bags, the ones that get washed most. For the lightest warm-weather layers, you might want our products made with Tanboocel® Bamboo Viscose — like the 0.5 TOG sleep bags, swaddles, and crib sheets.

What TOG rating should my baby wear?

Match the TOG to the room. 0.5 TOG for 75–81°F. 1.0 TOG for 69–75°F, the most common nursery temperature in the US. 2.5 TOG for 61–68°F cold nurseries. A nursery thermometer removes the guesswork.

What should baby wear under a 1.0 TOG sleep sack?

A short-sleeve bodysuit at the top end of the range (74–75°F), a long-sleeve bodysuit in the middle (70–73°F), or a sleeper at the cool end (69–70°F). The TOG rating gives you the main warmth; what your baby wears underneath lets you fine-tune from there.
